Here are some of our favorite Proven Winners varieties of annuals, perennials, and shrubs.
Annuals
We grow a wide variety of petunias, and the Vista series remains a fantastic choice for any landscape. These plants are self-cleaning, so no deadheading is required. While 'Bubblegum' has been a staple in our garden center for years, the series continues to expand. New this year is 'Vista Cool Jazz,' which features a beautiful, very light purple bloom.
Perennials
Nepeta: This easy-to-grow perennial offers long-lasting color from early summer into fall. Its purple flowers attract bees and butterflies, and the plants are drought-tolerant and low-maintenance once established. We grow several varieties from Proven Winners: 'Cat's Pajamas' (pictured) and 'Cat's Meow.'
Allium (Ornamental Onion): Unlike spring-blooming varieties like 'Globemaster,' these Alliums bloom in July. They are excellent for attracting pollinators while remaining resistant to deer and rabbits. Our favorite Proven Winner's varieties include 'Millenium' and 'Lavender Bubbles'.
Shrubs
Incrediball hydrangeas are a showstopping variety known for their massive, round flower heads that can reach up to 12 inches across. Blooming in mid to late summer, their creamy white flowers emerge on strong, sturdy stems that won’t flop under the weight. This hardy, reliable shrub thrives in full sun to part shade and adds bold beauty to borders, foundation plantings, or as a striking focal point. Incrediball hydrangeas are also great for cut flower arrangements—fresh or dried!
